Drs. Govan and Farahani specialize in the treatment of insomnia using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
Each are proud members of the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Govan has been fortunate to be a regular presenter at the annual Providence Sleep Symposium and has taught for the Sleep Education Series at Providence St. Vincent Hospital.
Dr. Farahani has had the pleasure of developing and piloting behavioral health integration programs for both Providence Health and Legacy Health. This includes sleep education.
CBT-I is considered first-line treatment for insomnia. Too often, however, those suffering with insomnia learn about CBT-I only after struggling with other, less-effective treatments.
CBT-I is natural and does not involve medications and supplements.
CBT-I is an evidence-based and highly effective approach for the treatment of insomnia.
CBT-I treatment typically involves a handful of sessions over 6-12 weeks.
CBT-I involves specific techniques that are missing from sleep hygiene tip sheets.
Contrary to popular belief, undergoing CBT-I does not mean "it's all in your head!" Rather, CBT-I is a practical approach centered on behavioral and environmental changes.
